Pirate Ship - Yarrrrrr by Ammeih Pirate Ship - Yarrrrrr by Ammeih
A wee bit late for the speed stitching contest over at stitchingpirates but I finally managed to finish this little ship (about two weeks ago, slacker). Pirate Flag

Stitched 1 over 1 on 22count hardanger fabric and hand dyed to a dark blue/grey-ish by myself. It does set off all the colours quite nicely if I do say so myself. Also, I colour changed the flag from the original pink/red ish tone to green.

I left this one in my WIP stash for months and in the end it only took two hours for me to get my act together and finish it. That's how far I'd left it undone. Like at 99% with 1% to go. D'oh.:pirateattack Reason why I left it so long? Err.....I lost my interest with all those random stitches that didn't seem to make sense to me. Oops. I do like how it turned out though while cheating my way through by filling in those random stitches with a nearby colour.

But hey, better late than never!

I really like the green pennant ^_^ And yeah, random stitches make it harder to want to finish projects.

Wonderfully done and congrats for sticking it out and finishing it!!!  The gray really helps the sails come out!  Well done!  :w00t:

It just pops on that fabric!! Wow!! And I cheated more than once on those random stitches... they were too easy to forget. And the green looks awesome!!

Oh it looks awesome! I love the green pennant, a great choice :) It looks so different on the grey fabric too. I'm so glad you finally finished it :D

I can't blame you for using nearby colours for some of those weird ones, they were a pain to do.
