So hey, this is one striking pattern that I found by Vervaco.
As a truly spitting image of my cat Moira I of course had to go and stitch this one up pronto.
The fabric I hand dyed myself from a plain white 14 count aida to a beautiful soft blue just hinting with a little of pink; although the stitching absorbed most of the pink in the end.
I am actually having quite a bit of fun experimenting with dying my own fabrics. I don't like loud colours on my fabric as I want the stitching itself to be the focus point on a project so I tend to go with softer and lighter colours that will blend more in a subtle way with whatever I will be stitching on it. And with beautiful results.
My kitchen counter however is less lucky with my 'subtle' choices as I tend to splatter (swish swish swoosh!) alot despite covering it with plastic wrapping. Thankfully the dye washes off just fine if you don't leave cleaning for the next day!
So yeah, this was fun to craft. I added a charm in the shape of a heart for a little fun touch. I then used a nailgun to attach it to a 30cm by 30cm painters canvas and she now proudly stares into the distance like only a cat can in my living room, not quite unlike the actual Moira!
